לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ
To the Chief Musician
בִּנְגִינֹ֗ת
with stringed instruments
מַשְׂכִּ֥יל
a Contemplation
לְדָוִֽד׃
of David
הַאֲזִ֣ינָה
Give ear
אֱ֭לֹהִים
God
תְּפִלָּתִ֑י
to my prayer
וְאַל־
and not
תִּ֝תְעַלַּ֗ם
do hide Yourself
מִתְּחִנָּתִֽי׃
from my supplication

הַקְשִׁ֣יבָה
Attend
לִּ֣י
to me
וַעֲנֵ֑נִי
and hear me
אָרִ֖יד
I am restless
בְּשִׂיחִ֣י
in my complaint
וְאָהִֽימָה׃
and moan noisily

מִקּ֤וֹל
because of the voice
אוֹיֵ֗ב
of the enemy
מִפְּנֵ֣י
because
עָקַ֣ת
of the oppression
רָשָׁ֑ע
of the wicked
כִּי־
for
יָמִ֥יטוּ
they bring down
עָלַ֥י
upon me
אָ֝֗וֶן
trouble
וּבְאַ֥ף
and in wrath
יִשְׂטְמֽוּנִי׃
they hate me

לִ֭בִּי
My heart
יָחִ֣יל
is severely pained
בְּקִרְבִּ֑י
within me
וְאֵימ֥וֹת
and the terrors
מָ֝֗וֶת
of death
נָפְל֥וּ
have fallen
עָלָֽי׃
upon me

יִרְאָ֣ה
Fearfulness
וָ֭רַעַד
and trembling
יָ֣בֹא
have come
בִ֑י
upon me
וַ֝תְּכַסֵּ֗נִי
and has overwhelmed me
פַּלָּצֽוּת׃
horror

וָאֹמַ֗ר
So I said
מִֽי־

לְשׁוֹנָ֑ם

violence
וְרִ֣יב
and strife
בָּעִֽיר׃
in the city

יוֹמָ֤ם
Day
וָלַ֗יְלָה
and night
יְסוֹבְבֻ֥הָ
they go around it
עַל־
on
חוֹמֹתֶ֑יהָ
its walls
וְאָ֖וֶן
and Iniquity
וְעָמָ֣ל
and trouble [are]
בְּקִרְבָּֽהּ׃
in the midst of it

הַוּ֥וֹת
Destruction [is]
בְּקִרְבָּ֑הּ
in its midst
וְֽלֹא־
and not
יָמִ֥ישׁ
do depart
מֵ֝רְחֹבָ֗הּ
from its streets
תֹּ֣ךְ
Oppression
וּמִרְמָֽה׃
and deceit

כִּ֤י
For
לֹֽא־
[it is] not
אוֹיֵ֥ב
an enemy
יְחָֽרְפֵ֗נִי
[who] reproaches me
וְאֶ֫שָּׂ֥א
and I could bear [it]
לֹֽא־
nor [is it]
מְ֭שַׂנְאִי
one [who] hates me
עָלַ֣י
against me
הִגְדִּ֑יל
who has exalted [himself]
וְאֶסָּתֵ֥ר
and I could hide
מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃
from him

וְאַתָּ֣ה
But [it was] you
אֱנ֣וֹשׁ
a man
כְּעֶרְכִּ֑י
my equal
אַ֝לּוּפִ֗י
My companion
וּמְיֻדָּֽעִי׃
and my acquaintance

אֲשֶׁ֣ר
We who
יַ֭חְדָּו
together
נַמְתִּ֣יק
we took sweet
ס֑וֹד
counsel
בְּבֵ֥ית
to the house
אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים
of God
נְהַלֵּ֥ךְ
[And] walked
בְּרָֽגֶשׁ׃
in the throng

[ישימות]
Desolations
(יַשִּׁ֤י)
Let seize
(מָ֨וֶת ׀)
death
עָלֵ֗ימוֹ
them
יֵרְד֣וּ
let them go down
שְׁא֣וֹל
into hell
חַיִּ֑ים
alive
כִּֽי־
for
רָע֖וֹת
wickedness [is]
בִּמְגוּרָ֣ם
in their dwellings
בְּקִרְבָּֽם׃

אֲ֭נִי
I
אֶל־
upon
אֱלֹהִ֣ים
God
אֶקְרָ֑א
will call
וַ֝יהוָ֗ה
and Yahweh
יוֹשִׁיעֵֽנִי׃
shall save me

עֶ֤רֶב
Evening
וָבֹ֣קֶר
and morning
וְ֭צָהֳרַיִם
and at noon
אָשִׂ֣יחָה
I will pray
וְאֶהֱמֶ֑ה
and cry aloud
וַיִּשְׁמַ֥ע
and He shall hear
קוֹלִֽי׃
my voice

פָּ֘דָ֤ה
He has redeemed
בְשָׁל֣וֹם
in peace
נַ֭פְשִׁי
my soul
מִקֲּרָב־
from the battle
לִ֑י
[that was] against me
כִּֽי־
for
בְ֝רַבִּ֗ים
many
הָי֥וּ
there were
עִמָּדִֽי׃
against me

יִשְׁמַ֤ע ׀
Will hear
אֵ֨ל ׀
God
וְֽיַעֲנֵם֮
and afflict them
וְיֹ֤שֵׁ֥ב
and Even He who abides
קֶ֗דֶם
from of old
סֶ֥לָה
Selah
אֲשֶׁ֤ר

חֲלִיפ֣וֹת

לָ֑מוֹ

שָׁלַ֣ח
He has put forth
יָ֭דָיו
his hands
בִּשְׁלֹמָ֗יו
against those who were at peace with him
חִלֵּ֥ל
He has broken
בְּרִיתֽוֹ׃
his covenant

חָלְק֤וּ ׀
Were smoother
מַחְמָאֹ֣ת
than butter
פִּיו֮
[The words] of his mouth
וּֽקֲרָב־
but war [was]
לִ֫בּ֥וֹ
in his heart
רַכּ֖וּ
were softer
דְבָרָ֥יו
His words
מִשֶּׁ֗מֶן
than oil
וְהֵ֣מָּה
and yet they [were]
פְתִחֽוֹת׃
drawn swords

הַשְׁלֵ֤ךְ
Cast
עַל־
on
יְהוָ֨ה ׀
Yahweh
יְהָבְךָ֮
your burden
וְה֪וּא
and He
יְכַ֫לְכְּלֶ֥ךָ
shall sustain you
לֹא־
never
יִתֵּ֖ן
He shall permit
לְעוֹלָ֥ם
to
מ֗וֹט
be moved
לַצַּדִּֽיק׃
the righteous
23
וְאַתָּ֤ה
But You
אֱלֹהִ֨ים ׀
God
תּוֹרִדֵ֬ם ׀
shall bring them down
לִבְאֵ֬ר
to the pit
שַׁ֗חַת
of destruction
אַנְשֵׁ֤י
men
דָמִ֣ים
Bloodthirsty
וּ֭מִרְמָה
and deceitful
לֹא־
not
יֶחֱצ֣וּ
shall live out half
יְמֵיהֶ֑ם
their days
וַ֝אֲנִ֗י
but I
אֶבְטַח־
will trust
בָּֽךְ׃
in You
