שִׁיר־

חֲנֻכַּ֖ת
the dedication
הַבַּ֣יִת
of the house
לְדָוִֽד׃
of David
אֲרוֹמִמְךָ֣
I will extol You
יְ֭הוָה
Yahweh
כִּ֣י
for
דִלִּיתָ֑נִי
You have lifted me up
וְלֹא־
and not
שִׂמַּ֖חְתָּ
have let rejoice
אֹיְבַ֣י
my foes
לִֽי׃
over me

יְהוָ֥ה
Yahweh
אֱלֹהָ֑י
my God
שִׁוַּ֥עְתִּי
I cried out
אֵ֝לֶ֗יךָ
to You
וַתִּרְפָּאֵֽנִי׃
and You healed me

יְֽהוָ֗ה
Yahweh
הֶֽעֱלִ֣יתָ
You brought up
מִן־
from
שְׁא֣וֹל
the grave
נַפְשִׁ֑י
my soul
חִ֝יִּיתַ֗נִי
You have kept me alive
[מיורדי־]
from those who go down to
(מִיָּֽרְדִי־)
that I should not go down to
בֽוֹר׃
the pit

זַמְּר֣וּ
Sing praise
לַיהוָ֣ה
to Yahweh
חֲסִידָ֑יו
You saints of His
וְ֝הוֹד֗וּ
and give thanks
לְזֵ֣כֶר
at the remembrance
קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃
of His holy [name]

כִּ֤י
For
רֶ֨גַע ׀
a moment
בְּאַפּוֹ֮
His anger [is but for]
חַיִּ֪ים
[for] life
בִּרְצ֫וֹנ֥וֹ
His favor [is]
בָּ֭עֶרֶב
for a night
יָלִ֥ין
may endure
בֶּ֗כִי
Weeping
וְלַבֹּ֥קֶר
but in the morning
רִנָּֽה׃
joy [comes]

וַ֭אֲנִי
And I
אָמַ֣רְתִּי
said
בְשַׁלְוִ֑י
in my prosperity
בַּל־
never
אֶמּ֥וֹט
I shall be moved
לְעוֹלָֽם׃
I shall
7
יְֽהוָ֗ה
Yahweh
בִּרְצוֹנְךָ֮
by Your favor
הֶעֱמַ֪דְתָּה
You have made stand
לְֽהַרְרִ֫י
my mountain
עֹ֥ז
strong
הִסְתַּ֥רְתָּ
You hid
פָנֶ֗יךָ
Your face
הָיִ֥יתִי
[and] I was
נִבְהָֽל׃
troubled

אֵלֶ֣יךָ
To You
יְהוָ֣ה
Yahweh
אֶקְרָ֑א
I cried out
וְאֶל־
and to
אֲ֝דֹנָ֗י
Yahweh
אֶתְחַנָּֽן׃
I made supplication
9
מַה־
What
בֶּ֥צַע
profit [is there]
בְּדָמִי֮
in my blood
בְּרִדְתִּ֪י
when I go down
אֶ֫ל־
to
שָׁ֥חַת
the pit
הֲיוֹדְךָ֥
will praise You
עָפָ֑ר
the dust
הֲיַגִּ֥יד
will it declare
אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃
Your truth

שְׁמַע־
Hear
יְהוָ֥ה
Yahweh
וְחָנֵּ֑נִי
and have mercy on me
יְ֝הוָה
Yahweh
הֱֽיֵה־
be
עֹזֵ֥ר
helper
לִֽי׃
my

הָפַ֣כְתָּ
You have turned
מִסְפְּדִי֮
my mourning
לְמָח֪וֹל
into dancing
לִ֥י
for me
פִּתַּ֥חְתָּ
You have put off
שַׂקִּ֑י
my sackcloth
וַֽתְּאַזְּרֵ֥נִי
and clothed me
שִׂמְחָֽה׃
with gladness

לְמַ֤עַן ׀
to the end that
יְזַמֶּרְךָ֣
may sing praise to You
כָ֭בוֹד
[my] glory
וְלֹ֣א
and not
יִדֹּ֑ם
be silent
יְהוָ֥ה
Yahweh
אֱ֝לֹהַ֗י
my God
לְעוֹלָ֥ם
forever
אוֹדֶֽךָּ׃
I will give thanks to You
