A Psalm of David
בְּשַׁנּוֹת֣וֹ

וַֽ֝יְגָרֲשֵׁ֗הוּ

In Yahweh
תִּתְהַלֵּ֣ל
shall make its boast
נַפְשִׁ֑י
My soul
יִשְׁמְע֖וּ
shall hear [of it]
עֲנָוִ֣ים
the humble
וְיִשְׂמָֽחוּ׃
and be glad

גַּדְּל֣וּ
Oh magnify
לַיהוָ֣ה
Yahweh
אִתִּ֑י
with me
וּנְרוֹמְמָ֖ה
and let us exalt
שְׁמ֣וֹ
His name
יַחְדָּֽו׃
together

דָּרַ֣שְׁתִּי
I sought
אֶת־
-
יְהוָ֣ה
Yahweh
וְעָנָ֑נִי
and He heard me
וּמִכָּל־
and from all
מְ֝גוּרוֹתַ֗י
my fears
הִצִּילָֽנִי׃
delivered me

הִבִּ֣יטוּ
They looked
אֵלָ֣יו
to Him
וְנָהָ֑רוּ
and were radiant
וּ֝פְנֵיהֶ֗ם
and their faces
אַל־
not
יֶחְפָּֽרוּ׃
were ashamed

זֶ֤ה
This
עָנִ֣י
poor man
קָ֭רָא
cried out
וַיהוָ֣ה
and Yahweh
שָׁמֵ֑עַ
heard [him]
וּמִכָּל־
and out of all
צָ֝רוֹתָ֗יו
his troubles
הוֹשִׁיעֽוֹ׃
saved him

חֹנֶ֤ה
Encamps
מַלְאַךְ־
the angel
יְהוָ֓ה
of Yahweh
סָ֘בִ֤יב
all around
לִֽירֵאָ֗יו
those who fear Him
וַֽיְחַלְּצֵֽם׃
and delivers them
8
טַעֲמ֣וּ
Oh taste
וּ֭רְאוּ
and see
כִּי־
that
ט֣וֹב
good
יְהוָ֑ה
Yahweh [is]
אַֽשְׁרֵ֥י
Blessed [is]
הַ֝גֶּ֗בֶר
the man
יֶחֱסֶה־
[who] trusts
בּֽוֹ׃
in Him

יְר֣אוּ
Oh fear
אֶת־
-
יְהוָ֣ה
Yahweh
קְדֹשָׁ֑יו
you His saints
כִּי־
for
אֵ֥ין
[There is] no
מַ֝חְס֗וֹר
want
לִירֵאָֽיו׃
to those who fear Him

כְּ֭פִירִים
The young lions
רָשׁ֣וּ
lack
וְרָעֵ֑בוּ
and suffer hunger
וְדֹרְשֵׁ֥י
but those who seek
יְ֝הוָ֗ה
Yahweh
לֹא־
not
יַחְסְר֥וּ
shall lack
כָל־
any
טֽוֹב׃
good [thing]

לְֽכוּ־
Come you
בָ֭נִים
children
שִׁמְעוּ־
listen
לִ֑י
to me
יִֽרְאַ֥ת
the fear
יְ֝הוָ֗ה
of Yahweh
אֲלַמֶּדְכֶֽם׃
I will teach you
12
מִֽי־
Who [is]
הָ֭אִישׁ
the man
הֶחָפֵ֣ץ
[who] desires
חַיִּ֑ים
life
אֹהֵ֥ב
and loves
יָ֝מִ֗ים
[many] days
לִרְא֥וֹת
that he may see
טֽוֹב׃
good

נְצֹ֣ר
Keep
לְשׁוֹנְךָ֣
your tongue
מֵרָ֑ע
from evil
וּ֝שְׂפָתֶ֗יךָ
and your lips
מִדַּבֵּ֥ר
from speaking
מִרְמָֽה׃
deceit
14
ס֣וּר
Depart
מֵ֭רָע
from evil
וַעֲשֵׂה־
and do
ט֑וֹב
good
בַּקֵּ֖שׁ
Seek
שָׁל֣וֹם
peace
וְרָדְפֵֽהוּ׃
and pursue it

עֵינֵ֣י
The eyes
יְ֭הוָה
of Yahweh
אֶל־
[are] on
צַדִּיקִ֑ים
the righteous
וְ֝אָזְנָ֗יו
and His ears [are open]
אֶל־
to
שַׁוְעָתָֽם׃
their cry
16
פְּנֵ֣י
The face
יְ֭הוָה
of Yahweh
בְּעֹ֣שֵׂי
[is] against those who do
רָ֑ע
evil
לְהַכְרִ֖ית
to cut off
מֵאֶ֣רֶץ
from the earth
זִכְרָֽם׃
the remembrance of them

צָעֲק֣וּ
[The righteous] cry out
וַיהוָ֣ה
and Yahweh
שָׁמֵ֑עַ
hears
וּמִכָּל־
and out of all
צָ֝רוֹתָ֗ם
their troubles
הִצִּילָֽם׃
delivers them
18
קָר֣וֹב
Near
יְ֭הוָה
Yahweh [is]
לְנִשְׁבְּרֵי־
to those who have a broken
לֵ֑ב
heart
וְֽאֶת־
and
דַּכְּאֵי־
such as have a contrite
ר֥וּחַ
spirit
יוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃
saves
19
רַ֭בּוֹת
Many [are]
רָע֣וֹת
the afflictions
צַדִּ֑יק
of the righteous
וּ֝מִכֻּלָּ֗ם
but out of them all
יַצִּילֶ֥נּוּ
delivers him
יְהוָֽה׃
Yahweh
20
שֹׁמֵ֥ר
He guards
כָּל־
all
עַצְמוֹתָ֑יו
his bones
אַחַ֥ת
one
מֵ֝הֵ֗נָּה
of them
לֹ֣א
Not
נִשְׁבָּֽרָה׃
is broken
21
תְּמוֹתֵ֣ת
Shall slay
רָשָׁ֣ע
the wicked
רָעָ֑ה
Evil
וְשֹׂנְאֵ֖י
and those who hate
צַדִּ֣יק
the righteous
יֶאְשָֽׁמוּ׃
shall be condemned
22
פּוֹדֶ֣ה
Redeems
יְ֭הוָה
Yahweh
נֶ֣פֶשׁ
the soul
עֲבָדָ֑יו
of His servants
וְלֹ֥א
and none
יֶ֝אְשְׁמ֗וּ
shall be condemned
כָּֽל־
Of
הַחֹסִ֥ים
those who trust
בּֽוֹ׃
in Him
